The crews of Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers in the aviation unit of the long-range aviation of the Amur Region practiced scheduled flights during the day and at night. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The flight duration of each crew was at least 8 hours.
During the execution of flight tasks, the flight crew practiced air navigation, piloting techniques, as well as the conditional use of aviation weapons.
During the event, the specialists of the engineering and aviation service worked out a set of measures to prepare aviation equipment for re-departure.
Tu-95 (NATO classification - Bear) is a strategic bomber-missile carrier. It is designed to destroy important targets in remote military-geographical areas and in the deep rear of continental theaters of war with conventional and nuclear weapons.
It is armed with long-range cruise missiles with a combat load of 25 tons, two 23 mm cannons. The Tu-95 is a strategic nuclear weapons carrier.
