NE028 project oil spill collectors to receive oil spill response kits from KMZ

Equipment for emergency spill response will be manufactured by order of the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant

The Kinigisepp Machine-Building Plant, KMZ, a military-industrial holding, will manufacture oil spill response (OSR) equipment for the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant. This was reported by the holding's press service.

The OSR kits will equip two NE028 project vessels (oil spill collectors).

The kit will include:

  • emergency boom barriers
  • electric pump
  • electric drive reel for booms
  • oil skimmer
  • mobile skimmer control panel
  • sorbent sprayer

About project NE028

The single-deck vessel with a twin-shaft diesel power plant is designed to collect water and transport petroleum products with a flash point above 60°C, as well as collect floating debris.

Length - 15.5 m

Width - 6 m

Draft - 1.5 m

Displacement - 95.7 t

Crew - 2 people

Main engine power - 2 x 120

Vessel speed - at least 7 knots
