The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant, KMZ, a military-industrial holding, will manufacture equipment for oil spill response (OSR) by order of the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, the holding's press service reported.
Two NE028 project vessels (oil spill collectors) will be equipped with OSR kits.
The kit will include:
- emergency boom barriers
- electric pump
- electric reel for booms
- oil skimmer
- mobile skimmer control panel
- sorbent sprayer

The single-deck vessel with a twin-shaft diesel power plant is designed to collect water and transport petroleum products with a flash point above 60°C, as well as collect floating debris.
