In the State Duma of Russia, it was proposed to install alcohol locks on rental cars. The implementation of the initiative will prevent drivers from getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.
It is also planned to raise the minimum age for using car sharing from 18 to 21 years and introduce uniform parking rules.
At the moment, there are no clear regulatory legal acts defining car sharing, the characteristics of rental cars, and the provisions of the agreement between the operator and the user. Industry representatives believe that it is necessary to create a separate federal law that will define the specifics of using car-sharing vehicles and their technical equipment.
