Roskomnadzor identified 10 cases of personal data leaks of Russians in January 2025

Almost 7 million records of Russian citizens were leaked online

In January 2025, Roskomnadzor recorded 10 cases of personal data leaks, resulting in more than 6.9 million records of Russians being publicly available.

In 2024, a total of 135 leaks occurred, resulting in the leakage of more than 700 million records. For comparison, in 2023, 168 incidents were recorded, but with a smaller leakage volume — more than 300 million records. In 2022, there were more than 140 leaks, and about 600 million records were leaked.

Statistics show an increase in incidents compared to 2021, when only 4 leaks were registered, affecting 2.7 million records. These trends indicate an increase in cybersecurity threats and the need to strengthen personal data protection measures.
