Stand for studying drones and wireless technologies developed at St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation

The complex will allow setting individual loads on the selected drone

The first stand in Russia for training personnel in the field of wireless power transmission and operation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with payloads has been developed at the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SPb GUAP). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The laboratory stand consists of transmitting and receiving parts, for which electronic circuits were developed, analysis and selection of electronic components were made, and integration of a modern oscilloscope, signal generator and electronic load was performed. Thanks to the stand, we can carry out an industrial case of installing a payload on a real drone and solve the problem of servicing and using both the base station and the unmanned aerial system with a payload.

With the help of this, students will begin to study all the processes of working with UAS - from designing a ground station and payload to performing theoretical research and their practical verification. Students will be able to investigate the dependence of energy transfer efficiency on specified characteristics, as well as study the influence of input and output voltage, signal generation frequency and other parameters.

Companies belonging to the AERONEXT and Aeronet NTI groups (leaders in the unmanned aerial systems industry) have already shown interest in the development.
