The lifespan of modern Lada car engines is at least 220,000 km, but it can still be increased. This was announced by Grigory Lychev, head of the power unit design department at AutoVAZ.
According to him, it is necessary to adhere to simple advice - do not save on fuels and lubricants, carefully choose the quality of oils and gasoline brand, warm up the engine before starting to drive in winter and carefully run-in a new car.
The operating manual contains recommendations on RPM, driving style and speed for running-in up to 2000 km. Of course, the engine will not be destroyed if you ignore the restrictions, but it is highly likely that the resource will be significantly reduced.
