A major oil spill occurred in the Leninogorsk district of Tatarstan on January 29, 2025, covering an area of 2,000 square meters. This was reported by Rosprirodnadzor.
Information was received about a spill of oil-containing liquid onto the soil near the Novo-Chershilinsky rural settlement of the Leninogorsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
An inspector with experts from the "CLATI in the Republic of Tatarstan" and "CLATI in the PFD" inspected the spill site. They took soil samples to determine the amount of damage to the company "Transneft-Prikamye". The area of contamination is about 2000 square meters.
According to the press service of JSC "Transneft - Prikamye", the spill occurred at 12:06 due to a pressure drop in the Kaltasy - Kuibyshev main oil pipeline section.
Earlier, Russian scientists developed bacteria to eliminate man-made disasters. Specialists used the genetic material of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E. coli to create a safe pseudomonad. To reduce the negative impact of humans, for example, in the event of oil spills, surfactants are used.
