Special cameras are being prepared for installation in Moscow to measure the noise levels of cars and motorcycles. «Efir» can measure noise in the range of 60 to 120 dB. The device was developed by «ITB Soft».
The camera, named «Efir,» with four microphones, detects vehicles with loud music or excessive exhaust noise. Fines for exceeding noise levels will range from 5,000 to 30,000 rubles.
Standards for permissible noise levels have not yet been defined. To start the system, it is necessary to amend the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. For now, locations for the cameras will be sought, and they will operate in test mode.
After the amendments to the legislation are adopted, the Moscow authorities will approve the maximum noise levels for different times of the day. The exact timing of the system's implementation depends on the approval of all regulatory acts.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia has begun to combat noisy drivers.
