Слишком мощно: российский «Орешник» попробуют запретить на Западе

Lieutenant Colonel Ivannikov: The West will make every effort to ban "Oreshnik"

Western countries will make every effort to include the latest Russian medium-range missile "Oreshnik" in the list of prohibited weapons. This opinion was expressed in an interview with aif.ru by an advisor to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Ivannikov.

According to him, the missile turned out to be an "asymmetric response" to the systems that the United States and Europe have.

Classic military doctrines are based on symmetrical responses — if we are struck by long-range precision weapons, we have the right to respond with exactly the same weapon. And "Oreshnik" is a weapon of a new generation that surpasses all the weapons available in the West. And if it is used, it will be an asymmetric response that is more powerful and goes beyond the scope of military doctrine.
Oleg Ivannikov, military expert

"Oreshnik" is a solid-propellant medium-range ballistic missile on a mobile chassis with a warhead equipped with several individually guided warheads, which can be in both conventional and nuclear configurations.

This weapon can be used with a guaranteed ability to hit any target at a range of up to 5,000 km without the enemy's real ability to counter anything in terms of interception.
