Обновлённая ядерная доктрина России: озвучено, когда Россия применит ядерное оружие

A devastating response to threats will be received by both "nuclear" adversaries and those who do not yet have their own nuclear weapons

This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a direct line in Gostiny Dvor, answering a question from a "RG" journalist about the new nuclear doctrine and whether the signal about its possible use in the West was correctly heard.

The head of state noted that he would not interpret what was heard in the West: "you need to ask them". According to him, the nuclear doctrine as a whole is not new, but has "some key things" that distinguish it from the previous version. These include, in particular, a more detailed list of military threats under which Russia may use nuclear weapons, and the use of such weapons in the event of military threats both to Moscow and to Minsk. A nuclear shield for allied Belarus was created with the full agreement of this idea with the President of the Republic, Alexander Lukashenko.

We are talking about some new military dangers that may develop into military threats. This includes the emergence of these missile defense systems, and some other things, and we name them. Then we talk about increasing the responsibility of non-nuclear states that may participate in aggression against the Russian Federation together with countries that possess nuclear weapons. And if such countries, like their allies, create threats to our sovereignty, to the very existence of Russia, then we mean that we consider ourselves entitled to use our nuclear weapons against them as well. Well, and finally, another component related to the control of nuclear weapons. And another, fourth, important thing. We announced that if the same threats are created for our ally, a member of the Union State, for Belarus, then the Russian Federation will consider this as creating similar threats to Russia itself. And we will do everything to ensure the security of Belarus. We are doing this in coordination with the Belarusian leadership, in coordination with the President of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. And I think this is a very important component of the updated nuclear strategy of the Russian Federation.
