NAZ vest will save pilots: Rostec has developed new equipment for survival in extreme conditions

Mass production will begin in 2025

Rostec has developed a new wearable emergency supply (NAZ) for pilots to survive in extreme conditions. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.

The NAZ vest developed by Rostec State Corporation specialists should improve the safety of air crews in the event of unforeseen circumstances. The creation of the NAZ used both ready-made elements and new ones developed with the participation of potential users. The kit includes a wide range of first aid equipment, various signaling devices, food, a survival kit and a combat kit.

The novelty was tested on a centrifuge with an overload of 9G and on a vertical catapult and when exposed to air flows at a speed of 1470 km/h. It was noted that the vest significantly reduces the impact of overload and improves the performance of the anti-G suit.

The design of the vest includes ballistic packages made of aramid armor to protect against pistol bullets and fragments. A universal holster is provided for placing personal weapons, and all items in the NAZ are placed in pouches.

The vest is equipped with a flashlight beacon with an infrared module, which allows you to detect the pilot at night at a distance of up to 3 km. The kit also includes a non-liquid compass that can operate in extreme temperatures from +50 to −60 degrees Celsius.

In addition, the NAZ includes a survival knife, a first aid kit with an extensive set of tools, a soft flask and an additional container with a filter for water purification. The evacuation system, consisting of durable belts and carabiners, allows you to quickly remove the pilot from the aircraft or from the ground.

Mass production of the novelty is scheduled for 2025.
