Rosatom: The First Stage of Bringing the Reactor Unit to Nominal Parameters Has Started

Construction and installation works have been completed at power unit No. 1 of the Rooppur NPP, which is being built by Rosatom State Corporation specialists in Bangladesh. The station personnel have started the testing program. This was reported by the State Corporation's press service.

On Wednesday, December 18, the first stage of the operation to bring the reactor unit to nominal parameters began. Nuclear scientists will check the operability of equipment and mechanisms, including the start-up of the main circulation pumps (MCP).

The result of the program will be testing the reactor unit at nominal parameters without nuclear fuel.

According to Andrey Petrov, President of JSC ASE, the first power unit is being prepared for physical start-up. Rosatom guarantees the reliability and safety of the technologies used in the construction of nuclear power plants, he added.
