From December 2 to 8, 2024, 30.1 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia. For the first time in the last five weeks, the car market managed to overcome the 30,000 mark, Avtostat reported.
LADA continues to lead the list of the most popular car brands. In the first week of December, 9.5 thousand new passenger cars were sold.
In second place are four Chinese brands: Haval (3.7 thousand cars), Chery (3.4 thousand), Geely (2.3 thousand) and Changan (1.5 thousand).
Over the past week, sales of other brands were significantly lower — less than a thousand units. However, the Russian "Moskvich" was able to take sixth place. The top ten also included Chinese brands OMODA, Jetour, TANK and JAECOO. It is noteworthy that the last two brands ousted the Belarusian Belgee and Chinese BAIC from the list of leaders.
At the same time, in the summer, sales of Belgee crossovers in Russia broke a record. The most popular was the Belgee X50 crossover
However, in the fall, cars of the Belarusian brand rose sharply in price. Moreover, prices for them were rewritten for the third time in two months. For example, the Belgee X50, beloved by many, which is a copy of the pre-styling Geely Coolray model, in the basic Active configuration became more expensive by 102,200 rubles.
