Назван ущерб для Земли от уничтожения МКС

It is about a major destruction of a part of the ozone layer

Scientists have started talking about a new problem associated with the ISS. According to Space.com, the aging station will be deorbited by SpaseX under contract from NASA and sunk in the ocean. However, this could harm Earth, despite assurances that this method is safe.

Scientists from the United States and a number of other countries believe that when the ISS burns up upon entering the atmosphere, it will produce a huge amount of harmful chemicals that will damage the ozone layer.

It is known that the burning of one Starlink-type satellite weighing 250 kg in the atmosphere produces about 30 kg of aluminum oxide nanoparticles. It will take up to 30 years for them to enter the stratosphere.

The ISS is much larger, and the volume of emissions will cause many times more damage to the Earth.
