Sber's neural network model GigaChat MAX passed a new exam at the accreditation center of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia (Sechenov University). It coped with all the tasks that are given to graduates of Russian medical universities after passing primary accreditation in the specialty "General Medicine".
Sber's neural network model GigaChat MAX has improved its qualifications. Every medical student must pass such accreditation in order to obtain the right to work in the Russian healthcare system. Testing corresponding to primary accreditation was also passed by our neural network for the first time in Russia. This is a very important step towards the practical use of AI in healthcare. GigaChat MAX, meanwhile, continues to learn and becomes smarter in order to benefit people. We will develop GigaChat MAX in specific specialties, including general medicine, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, and others. I would like to note that, nevertheless, artificial intelligence is only an assistant to the doctor and will not replace him.
The exam consists of two stages: a test of 80 questions and the solution of two situational tasks. GigaChat MAX answered 83% of the questions in the test part with a passing score of 70% and gave 20 correct answers to situational tasks with a minimum value for successful passing of 17 answers. Graduates of medical universities, after passing primary accreditation, receive the right to work as a local general practitioner in an outpatient clinic, that is, the neural network has shown that it can work in this capacity.
Earlier in February 2024, the GigaChat neural network model was one of the first in the world to pass the final exam for sixth-year students, which is necessary to obtain the qualification "General Practitioner". Now the neural network has been retrained, and after reaching this stage, Sechenov University agreed with Sber on further training in AI in clinical pharmacology, urology, and pulmonology. Doctors believe that by assisting the doctor in making decisions, GigaChat MAX will save his time and reduce the routine load.
