The DPRK authorities have found loopholes and circumvent Western sanctions by forming new supply chains. For example, the missiles contain voltage converters manufactured by the British company XP Power.

Analysts at Conflict Armament Research (CAR) claim that North Korean-made ballistic missiles contain more than 290 electronic components obtained from companies in 8 countries.

Marking has identified 26 companies from China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United States. According to CAR, 75% of the components found in the KN-23 missile are made in companies from the United States, 16% in Europe, and the remaining 9% in Asia.
