HeliBuro is developing a new multi-purpose Russian helicopter - HB.17. The design of the rotorcraft is currently underway, and the first flight is scheduled for 2027.
The helicopter is designed to transport various cargoes and 9 passengers (in the certified version). HB.17 is a mid-class aircraft with a combined control system and modern avionics.
The helicopter is planned to be equipped with one of the most reliable engines in the world - the VK-2500, payload - 2.5 tons. The use of one engine instead of two will ensure high fuel economy: the flight range on the main tanks is up to 950 km.
High fuel efficiency and crew reduction will reduce operating costs. This makes the NV.17 attractive to regional operators involved in subsidized transportation. The helicopter will also be of interest to government agencies where rapid transportation of personnel and cargo is required.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that an expert found a radical solution to the problem of the shortage of AEW&C aircraft for the Russian Aerospace Forces, he proposed reviving the Yak-44.
