The Russian army is armed with the RS-28 Sarmat missile system. This is the only weapon in the world that can fly around the entire globe and deliver a warhead to any point in the world, both through the South Pole and through the North Pole.
The system consists of a silo launcher, a three-stage fifth-generation intercontinental ballistic missile, and a warhead that separates in flight. It is capable of carrying a nuclear charge in individually guided missile warheads.
"Sarmat" can carry from 15 warheads, depending on their power. The missile is designed to use Avangard hypersonic guided warheads. The estimated speed of entering orbit is up to 7000 m/s, the speed when striking is up to 3415 m/s.
"Avangard" is a munition that has not yet been detected by any existing radar station of the enemy. It will not be shot down by known means of anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense.
The ICBM is 35.5 m long, 3 m in diameter, has a launch weight of 208.1 t, a payload weight of 10 t, and a maximum flight range of 18,000 km.
