Russia does not plan to impose a ban on the sale of Apple devices. This was announced by State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin.
I am sure that what we saw in some media, that Apple gadgets will allegedly be banned in Russia, is a lie. The bill does not prohibit Apple gadgets, it strictly regulates equal access for our citizens, our developers to application stores.
It was noted that other sanctions may be applied to Apple if the corporation refuses to follow the law. In particular, Gorelkin noted that Apple may be fined for refusing to install the domestic RuStore on iPhones.
It is worth noting that the bill on pre-installing RuStore on iPhones was submitted to the State Duma for consideration on June 24 of this year. It has not yet been adopted even in the first reading.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian ministers and civil servants are banned from using expensive smartphones and laptops.
