LADA Website for the Emirates Temporarily Shut Down: High Prices Raised Questions

Media Noticed High Prices of LADA Cars in Dirhams

The AvtoVAZ website for the UAE (ladauae.com) was shut down shortly after media reported its launch and noticed that prices for LADA models such as Granta, Niva, Vesta, and Largus were listed in dirhams.

As early as November 5, reports surfaced about prices that seemed inflated compared to competitors: for example, the Granta was priced at 71.4 thousand dirhams (about 1.9 million rubles), and the Vesta at 88.7 thousand dirhams (approximately 2.36 million rubles), which placed them above some Kia and Toyota offerings. Niva versions were also expensive: the Niva Legend cost 67 thousand dirhams (about 1.78 million rubles), and the Niva Travel cost 81.7 thousand dirhams (about 2.17 million rubles).

Journalists suggested that the site might have been operating in test mode and that the published prices were incorrect. Currently, the site only displays a "coming soon" message and a phone number for the representative office.

AvtoVAZ is likely aiming to expand exports to regions with developing markets, such as the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. For 2024, the plant planned to export 25,000 LADA cars, and it will soon be known whether the company has achieved this goal.
