Russian military launched a Bulava ballistic missile from the Sea of Okhotsk. The Ministry of Defense showed a video of the training exercise.
The footage shows the launch of the Bulava. A few seconds after launch, the missile disappears into the clouds.
The carriers of the Bulava ICBM are nuclear-powered missile cruisers of strategic designation of projects 955/955A (code "Borey" / "Borey-A").
The Pacific and Northern Fleets of the Russian Navy include seven cruisers of these projects built by Sevmash. Each of them carries 16 Bulava ICBMs.
According to open sources, the range of the Bulava is more than 9 thousand km. It can carry from 6 to 10 independently targetable warheads with a capacity of 100-150 kt each as part of the warhead. The starting weight of the rocket is about 37 tons.
