Russian military personnel have begun to more actively use the Ka-52M reconnaissance and attack helicopter to intercept low-altitude enemy kamikaze UAVs, military analyst Evgeny Damantsev noted. Crews use 9M342 Igla-V guided missiles as part of the Strelets complex with a range of up to 7.5 km.
The guidance of the "cone" of scanning of the infrared seeker of the 9M342 missile onto the heat-contrast body of a drone or cruise missile can be carried out by changing the pitch and yaw angles of the vehicle according to the indicators on the windshield or the multispectral optoelectronic sighting complex GOES-451M.
The maximum speed of targets hit by the Igla-V reaches 1500 km/h, with a capture range of the turbojet engine flare of the Neptune-MD cruise missile at a distance of 3.5 km and the TRD of the Palianytsia UAV at 2.5 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will increase production of Kub kamikaze drones. They have proven themselves well on the front line.
