\"Rostselmash\" to Localize Production of Transmission Components for Agricultural Machinery

The company has found a way to continue operations after Okubo Gear refused to supply gearboxes

In 2022, the Japanese company Okubo Gear stopped supplying Rostselmash with gearboxes for engines. The Russian manufacturer of agricultural machinery studied the transmission using reverse engineering and plans to localize the production of some components.

According to one of the founders of Rostselmash, Konstantin Babkin, specialists found a difference in the tooth modifications on Japanese gears and the design documentation (DD). They are now making changes to the DD.

In addition, they found requirements for the surface hardening of gears, as with Okubo Gear. These parts will be checked in Perm, where the necessary equipment is available. The management of Rostselmash also plans to purchase similar equipment.

Rostselmash is working on gears, bringing all manufactured gearboxes to full condition. The process is not exactly smooth. We are learning from our mistakes.
