The operation of the fourth power unit has fully resumed at the Kurchatov Nuclear Power Plant after its repair. They managed it faster than promised. It was planned for 59 days, but they completed it in 52.

How the power unit was modernized: the key reactor systems were improved and the reliability of the equipment was increased. More than two thousand specialists were involved in the work.

Deputy Chief Engineer for Repair Sergey Zyskin noted that everything was planned in such a way that the engineers were able to complete the repair ahead of schedule.

It should be reminded that the Kurchatov Nuclear Power Plant was commissioned in 1976 and consists of four power units operating on VVER-440 reactors. The total installed capacity of the station is about 2,500 MW. The Kurchatov Nuclear Power Plant plays an important role in providing electricity to the Central Chernozem region and neighboring regions.
