The Russian Aerospace Forces have a universal small-sized torpedo UMT. It is designed for use with all types of aircraft carriers, in all areas of the World Ocean.
UMT will allow hitting submarines and certain classes of surface ships and vessels. Despite its small size and weight, the torpedo has significant power, optimal speed and range. The UMT is equipped with modern multi-processor analog-to-digital equipment for target detection and issuing a command to hit it.
The torpedo was developed by JSC "Concern "Sea Underwater Weaponry – Hydropribor".
Technical characteristics of the UMT torpedo:
- Range — 5-7 km
- Application depth range — up to 450 m
- Adjustable torpedo speed — up to 27 knots
- Mass of explosive in TNT equivalent — up to 35 kg
- Torpedo mass — no more than 100-140 kg
- Torpedo length — 2300 mm
- Diameter — 220 mm
Earlier www1.ru reported that the universal UAV "Brazhnik" with "Hermes" will go into mass production. Now the drone is being tested in several application scenarios.
