The Steam gaming service has removed 11 Internet pages with illegal content at the request of Roskomnadzor over the past week, the agency said. In total, more than 260 materials containing illegal content were removed. Roskomnadzor clarified that links to the removed materials will be excluded from the Unified Register of Prohibited Information.
The agency noted that some media outlets misinterpreted the inclusion of individual pages of the resource in the register as a complete blocking of the service or its individual pages. Roskomnadzor emphasized that including links in the register does not lead to automatic blocking, but first a request is sent to the resource owner and hosting provider to remove the prohibited content.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor stated that it does not plan to take restrictive measures against the Steam platform.
