Promising low-visibility loitering kamikaze drones of the aircraft type Stick M12 have begun to appear on the front. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained what means the Russian military can use to cope with these "birds".
The strike drone, made with the widespread use of composite materials, is equipped with one electric motor in the rear, while the front contains a high-explosive fragmentation or cumulative warhead. The effective reflecting surface of the product is 0.01 - 0.02 sq. m.
The drone's equipment is located in the front of the fuselage. Stick M12 is designed to destroy shelters, infantry, and armored vehicles. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that 9M333 anti-aircraft missiles of the Strela-10M3/MN military air defense systems can effectively intercept these UAVs with small radar and IR signatures.
As is known, these SAMs are equipped with combined three-band optoelectronic homing heads with a photo-contrast sensor, where the latter provides the ability to effectively capture opto-contrast objects, regardless of the EOP and infrared signature. The Pantsir-S1 and Tor-M2 SAM systems will also be able to effectively work on these drones at a distance of about 8 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the arsenal of the Russian Armed Forces was replenished with a captured American vehicle M88A2 Hercules.
