According to a survey by Rosgosstrakh, the ideal car for the average Russian is a gray European-made SUV (crossover) with a black interior and a "winter package." In the study, which involved 1,265 respondents, 62% preferred gray, making it the most popular. Black came in second with 23%, and white came in third with 12%. Blue was chosen by 7% of respondents, while red received only 6%.
As for car types, 38% of respondents preferred crossovers, but there is a tendency for this class to decrease in popularity. Sedans were chosen by 25% of respondents, while SUVs and hatchbacks accounted for 12% and 10%, respectively. Station wagons and minivans were the least popular with 9% and 6%.
According to the preferences of manufacturers, the results were distributed as follows: 30% of respondents preferred European cars, 22% preferred Japanese cars, 19.5% preferred Korean cars, 11% preferred Chinese cars, 10% preferred domestic cars, and 7.5% preferred American cars.
