A new workshop for repairing tracked vehicles and self-propelled tracked chassis for anti-aircraft missile systems has been opened at the Lipetsk Mechanical Plant of the Kalashnikov concern. This was reported in Rostec.
The launch of the new site is an important stage in expanding the production capacity of the enterprise. The concern expressed confidence that over time the Lipetsk plant will become a key enterprise of the Russian defense industry in the segment of repairing tracked platforms for air defense systems.
The enterprise has sufficient production capacity, as well as professional and technological competencies.
Earlier it became known about the development of a missile that is intended to destroy medium-armored targets, including those equipped with dynamic protection, and it is four times lighter than the missiles of the Kornet family.
The new ammunition has a jam-resistant control system with laser beam guidance, a tandem cumulative warhead and a maximum firing range of at least 3.5 km.
