A sharp increase in registrations has been noted in the new .spb.rf domain zone since the end of June this year. This was reported by the registrar Ru-Center.
The .spb.ru zone was created on June 21, 2024. Its launch was announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
During this time, 990 domains have been registered in the new domain zone.
Domains in Cyrillic are showing the largest growth.
Today, there are 5.7 million active domains in the .ru zone in Russia, so the choice of an available suitable domain name may be limited. At the same time, Cyrillic domains open up wide opportunities, and this is evident in the example of the active growth of the new .spb.rf zone.
The most popular zone remains .ru (Latin) — 5.7 million. Second on the list is the national zone .rf (778 thousand). The .moscow zone includes 12 thousand domains.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Runet is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary.
