A joint development by Pyotr Klochko, a graduate of the Nakhimov Naval School, and the Research Institute of Shipbuilding and Armaments of the Navy of the Military Educational and Scientific Center "Naval Academy", was presented at the recently concluded Army-2024 forum.
The code "Polikarp" is a joint project of the Nakhimov School and the Research Institute of Shipbuilding and Armaments of the Navy of the Military Educational and Scientific Center "Naval Academy". This is a development based on one of the planar hulls presented by the institute at previous forums. The new unmanned naval boat also interested the military and journalists of the TASS news agency.
We assembled the boat entirely ourselves from fiberglass and epoxy resin. Its area of application is coastal marine and inland waters. Such unmanned boats can perform a wide range of tasks - from patrolling coastal waters to performing special missions. The carrier is fully scalable and can accommodate various types of payloads - from water rescue equipment to strike drones and unmanned boats.
An unusual shape was chosen for the boat to make it as strong as possible: it is a quartomaran with triangular planes. It is lighter than a conventional hull of a typical keel design and more stable. In combination with other characteristics, the quartomaran shape helps it to develop speeds of up to 10 knots.
The International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2024" was held at the Patriot Exhibition Center from August 12 to 14. This year, the "Army" forum was held in a closed format: cancelled all entertainment events and free access to the expositions for viewers.
