Since the beginning of this year, the Central Bank has included 12 new organizations specializing in car pledges in the register of pawnshops. This is the highest figure since 2020.
Currently, there are only 63 such organizations in the country that work only with car pledges. They occupy only 5% of the market. According to experts, now there are all conditions for the development of such pawnshops. They will be focused on the secondary car market, where there are many models from China. The thing is that banks and dealers do not always want to work with them.
Note that the advantage of a car pawnshop is that there are no restrictions on the loan amount, which is determined by the market value of the property, while when pledging a car in a credit institution, there is a limit of 1 million rubles.
The car pawnshop segment will grow faster than other segments of the pawnshop market.
According to him, a car is a liquid asset for a pawnshop, but in order for the niche of car pawnshops to function normally, an infrastructure is needed, including, for example, a parking lot for cars.
Recall that in June of this year, Russians took more than 162 thousand car loans. Their total amount amounted to 239.5 billion rubles. This is another maximum.
