Russia has recorded an increase in the production of freight cars. The increase amounted to 24% in the first half of this year. A total of 35,400 units of wagons were created. This was reported by the press service of the Union "Association of Wagon Builders".
Most of all, high-axle load gondola cars, hoppers and tanks for petroleum products were produced. Production is expected to continue to grow until the end of the year. According to preliminary estimates, the number of wagons produced may reach 68-70 thousand units.
However, experts predict a decrease in demand. This is due to high prices and leasing rates.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways suspended the transportation of commercial cargo due to a shortage of containers.
