Employees of the enterprise will drill 42 wells on the skip shaft and 42 wells on the cage shaft section with a depth of 550 m. Then, a refrigerant will be supplied to them, which will create an ice-rock curtain, which will prevent the penetration of groundwater from the aquifer. This will ensure the safety of the mine builders.

ALROSA-Spetsburenie performs drilling of so-called "glasses" to a depth of 0 to 50 meters. The second stage is drilling to a depth of 50 to 550 meters. We must complete the work in the first quarter of 2025.
Kirill Degtyarev, head of ALROSA-Spetsburenie

At the end of 2023, PJSC ALROSA began preparatory work for the construction of the Mir-Deep underground mine. The diamond reserves in this area are estimated at 173.5 million carats, and their extraction will begin in 2032.
