Without Surgery: Rostec Develops Device for Treating Kidney Stones

The device will replace imported counterparts

Rostec State Corporation has created a domestic ultrasonic device called "Lithotripter LT-1." The device will allow the destruction of kidney stones using a non-contact method, the company's press service reported.

"Lithotripter LT-1" operates on the principle of remote shock wave lithotripsy (RSWL). It involves the destruction of kidney stones using a focused ultrasonic wave. This approach is the most gentle for the patient, does not require surgical intervention or the insertion of catheters.

Localization of kidney stones is performed using X-ray and ultrasound equipment. RSWL does not require prolonged hospitalization; the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.

The complex, developed by specialists from our holding company, has passed all the necessary tests and meets medical standards. Obtaining a registration certificate from Roszdravnadzor allows the device to be used in medical practice - both in public and private medical institutions.
