At the parade in Minsk, which took place on July 3, a strike drone was shown, which in its design resembled theRussian drone "Geran-2". The host of the event presented the UAV as a development of the Belarusian military-industrial complex. Later it became known that it was a licensed Iranian kamikaze drone Shahed-136, which received the name "Kochevnik".
In September 2023, Belarusian media wrote that the republic was establishing the production of Iranian Shahed-136 drones. The country had both the resources and the ready-made infrastructure for the production of such weapons.
Components for the UAV "Kochevnik" are produced at the "558th Aviation Repair Plant" in Baranovichi and the "Gomel Radio Plant". The final assembly of drones is carried out in Minsk.
