Let's meet at the Crimean Bridge: what travelers need to know who decide to go to Crimea for the May holidays

The Ministry of Transport of Russia has prepared basic rules for traveling across the Crimean Bridge

On the eve of the May holidays, many residents of Russia go to Crimea to relax. For this reason, traffic on the Crimean Bridge is becoming more intense. The Ministry of Transport of Russia has prepared a set of rules for understanding how to behave during the inspection process.

The inspection on the Crimean Bridge is carried out at specially equipped sites, the number of points will be increased by the May holidays. Following the recommendations, the procedure promises not to take much time.

The Ministry of Transport reminds that all types of luggage, drivers and passengers, as well as vehicles, are subject to inspection. Thus, cars with a small amount of luggage undergo a manual inspection, and if there are many things, a scanner is used.

Bags, boxes, suitcases are inspected in a special hall. All passengers with hand luggage pass through the frame. The Ministry of Transport advises packing things as compactly as possible before the trip - this will make the inspection faster.

When entering the bridge in individual transport, a special traffic controller will point to the inspection site. Do not forget your documents in the car. While you and your passengers are undergoing passport control and hand luggage checks, the car and luggage are scanned.

Private vehicles always move on the left side, public vehicles on the right. It will not be possible to overtake the queue - they will turn around and send you to the end.

All types of transport can travel on the bridge. The exception is trucks. In this case, you will have to choose a different route.

On weekdays, traffic intensity is lower than on weekends - this must be taken into account. You also need to stock up on plenty of drinking water in case there are problems with its purchase.

You can get to the southern regions of Russia not only via the Crimean Bridge, but also with the help of the Kerch ferry crossing, which connects the peninsula with the Krasnodar Territory. Another alternative route is the Chongar checkpoint. The latter option is perfect for those who have chosen a route through cities such as Mariupol and Melitopol.
