Like the FSO and the St. Petersburg Governor's Administration: Moscow Metro Bought a 10-Ton Armored Vehicle "Buran"

The price of the car and its purpose are unknown

A Buran armored vehicle from RIDA was spotted on the streets of Moscow. The 10-ton vehicle, equipped with a snorkel and emergency lights, belongs to the non-departmental security of the Moscow Metro. The Buran has been on the balance sheet of the State Unitary Enterprise "Moscow Metro" since August 2023.

The armored vehicle is equipped with "mud" tires, a winch, a snorkel, and power bumpers. The car can accommodate ten people.

It is unknown for what purposes the Moscow Metro acquired such a serious vehicle. The question of its price also remains open. In the secondary market, Burans cost about 17.5 million rubles.

It should be noted that, in addition to the Moscow Metro, this equipment is used by the Federal Security Service (FSO) and the motor pool of the administration of the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.

As a reminder, the Buran was created on the basis of the GAZ-3308 Sadko truck. Almost all the technical parts were taken from it: brakes, suspension, engine, axles, and frame. The armored vehicle is equipped with both a manual and an automatic transmission. The latter is from partners from China.
