The Ministry of Industry and Trade raised the issue of subsidizing domestic electronics manufacturers. This decision could help cover the price difference in the market between Chinese and Russian products.
The government plans to make domestic electronics competitive and more affordable for buyers. Subsidizing Russian manufacturers will help cover the difference between Russian goods and foreign-made counterparts, most often Chinese.
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that the support initiative is being carried out on a systematic basis. The main issue of discussion was compensation for the loss of income when providing a discount on the price difference.
At the same time, it was not specified what amounts of subsidies are being discussed. The Association of Russian Developers and Manufacturers of Electronics assessed the Russian market, the amount amounted to 6.1 trillion rubles. Up to 1 billion rubles may be needed for annual subsidization of Russian manufacturers.
It is worth recalling that earlier Russian manufacturers appealed to Минпромторгу with a request to include domestic brands in the state register.
