The Izhevsk plant "Kupol" is completing the development of the armored combat vehicle "Typhoon-Air Defense", which in 2019, still at the stage of a preliminary prototype, took part in international competitions in China "Clear Sky". Heavy equipment took second place, said the director of the enterprise, Fanil Ziyatdinov.
At the moment, the development of "Typhoon-Air Defense" is almost completed, preparations are underway for mass production
The purpose of the armored vehicle "Typhoon-Air Defense" is to increase the mobility and protection of anti-aircraft gunners armed with MANPADS.

- KamAZ chassis with a wheel formula of 4x4
- Russian engine
- Special armored capsule inside the combat vehicle
- «Kord» machine gun, caliber 12.7 mm
- 9 anti-aircraft guided missiles in launch tubes
- 3 launching mechanisms
- 9 ground power sources
- 3 sets of radar identification systems
Earlier, a version of the "Typhoon" armored vehicle for the Airborne Forces was presented. The combat vehicle is equipped with a 2S41 «Drok» mortar.
