In October 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade compiled a list of cars recommended for government procurement for official use by officials. By the end of February 2024, authorities in 38 Russian regions had provided deputies with Russian-made cars, according to a source in the State Duma.
A source from the lower house of parliament clarified that 34 regions offered deputies foreign cars localized in Russia before 2022. As they are phased out, they will be replaced with Russian cars.
Three more regions - Amur and Kaliningrad regions, Ingushetia - provided parliamentarians with foreign models from the so-called unfriendly countries.

According to current legislation, regional authorities lease cars for deputies through tenders. The remaining regions have not yet taken into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
