Passenger ship "Iniya" of project 04860.1, developed by the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), successfully completed sea trials. During the tests, all the stated characteristics of the vessel were confirmed, and the achieved maximum speed of 34 km/h even exceeded the design speed by 4 km/h.
The project, developed by NIPTB "Onega", received approval from the Northern Branch of the Russian Classification Society in November 2022. The vessel is designed for 54 passengers and two crew members, has a draft of 0.5 m and an overall length of 24.8 m.
A distinctive feature of "Iniya" is the height of the side, reaching 1.4 m, which expands its scope of operation not only on rivers and canals, but also on lakes and reservoirs, giving the vessel greater versatility. The vessel is adapted for passengers with limited mobility with wheelchairs and other special means of transportation.
According to representatives of USC, the share of domestic equipment in the project, including the propulsion complex, is 90%. The technical solutions are maximally unified between the "Iniya" and the "Sotalia" river tram projects, which will ensure easier operation of the fleet in the regions.
Like "Sotalia", "Iniya" was named after a freshwater river dolphin, which is also reflected in the design of the vessel - it resembles the outline of a freshwater dolphin jumping out of the water.
