The "Penicillin" artillery reconnaissance system combines the principle of sound and thermal reconnaissance and does not unmask itself with radiation, which makes it unique compared to foreign analogues, NII Vector said.
NII Vector believes that the system has great export potential. It can detect firing positions of artillery, mortars, MLRS, positions of anti-aircraft and tactical missiles of the enemy. "Penicillin" consists of sound receivers, an optoelectronic module.
The system reads acoustic signals from shots within a radius of 50 km and provides data with the coordinates of the place where the ammunition exploded and the gun that fired it. This will take no more than 5 seconds.
"Penicillin" has been supplied to the Russian Armed Forces since 2020. Earlier, a Russian serviceman spoke about his experience using the artillery reconnaissance system.
