Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin, taking into account existing military threats, set a number of key tasks for the Russian Ministry of Defense. These include maintaining a high level of combat readiness of the nuclear triad (Strategic Missile Forces, naval strategic forces and strategic aviation - note by www1.ru editors), as this ensures a strategic balance in the world. This was stated by the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.
Putin also instructed the Ministry of Defense to equip the army and navy with modern weapons, including those based on AI technologies and new physical principles. The Russian Armed Forces will further receive a serial line of drones from ultra-small to heavy strike ones.
In addition, the army will improve the operation of communication systems, increase the capabilities of air defense and the satellite group. Instructors with combat experience will be involved in the educational process in military universities and academies.
On the eve, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that for 2024 it is planned to conduct 7 launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
