Rosaviatsiya has confirmed the successful certification of domestic spark plugs for Russian-French SaM146 aircraft engines. Earlier, Rostec announced their creation and testing by its Rybinsk-based subsidiary, UEC-Saturn.
The Ufa Aggregate Production Association will produce the spark plugs. However, UEC-Saturn has developed not only this domestically produced component, but also others.
Thanks to the work done by the specialists at UEC-Saturn, the total operating time of the power plants in operation, which lift Superjet 100 airliners into the sky, has already exceeded 3 million flight hours. The on-time departure reliability rate for the engine part was 99.92%.
It is known that about 40 systems and units in the SJ-100 have already been replaced with Russian-made ones, including avionics. Work is also underway on a completely domestic engine for these aircraft, the PD-8, which will not depend on import substitution modifications.
Systems for maintenance and repair of electronic components of the SJ-100 have also been replaced with domestic ones. The first such center in Russia opened in September at the technopark of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute of the Irkut Corporation (part of the UAC of Rostec).
