AvtoVAZ confirmed the concern's intention to start producing the long-awaited Lada Vesta with an automatic transmission at the turn of 2023-2024.
It is not yet clear whose products will replace the five-speed manual transmission. Previously, the company's management said that Lada Vesta is being tested with a Chinese CVT, but the manufacturer was not named.
AvtoVAZ is also thinking about automatic transmissions for the Lada Granta, but there are no clear deadlines for introducing this innovation under the hood. However, private companies in Russia have already begun to provide gearbox conversion services. For example, the Ural company "AKPP-EKB" installs classic Japanese automatic transmissions on the Lada Granta.
