The Russian IT giant Yandex has developed and tested two industrial robots for use in Market and Lavka warehouses. They are expected to be used in the company's warehouses and offered to customers.
It is known that the development of automated systems began in 2021. Logistics robots are assembled from components of Russian and foreign production.
One of them is used in the largest logistics center of Market (area of 80 thousand sq. m), located in the village of Sofyino, Moscow region. The robot was created for inventorying bulky goods, including gas stoves, washing machines, as well as for batches of the same product stored on pallets - cereals, pasta.
The robot's software contains a map of the warehouse, and the device moves in space using sensors and a camera. Thanks to machine vision, the robot scans QR codes of goods and enters them into the accounting system. It is noted that the robot performs the calculation of goods on one pallet in a couple of seconds, while it takes a person several minutes to do this.
The Lavka robot places goods in the warehouse and collects orders. Currently, Yandex specialists are testing a prototype at a site in Moscow. The autonomous device is resistant to low temperatures, so it can work in warehouses where perishable products are stored. The cost of the robots is not specified, while the company says that buyers will be able to recoup the costs in about 1.5-2 years.
Earlier, NAURR stated that in 2022 in Russia the market for logistics robotics grew. Companies developing such equipment earned more than 680 million rubles.
