A video has appeared online showing tests of the new KamAZ-6559 autonomous dump truck, which is called "Jupiter 30".
The rigid-frame, cabless quarry dump truck moves easily in space and "dances."
In-plant tests for "Jupiter 30"began in October, then it will go to quarries in the Kemerovo region. It is planned to startmass production of these dump trucks by 2025.

This cabless dump truck is capable of transporting loads of up to 30 tons in fully automatic or remote control mode.
It is controlled via GPS/GLONASS, GSM antennas, 2D and 3D lidars, ultrasonic sensors, radars and video cameras. All this equipment is protected from dust, dirt, moisture and vibration.
"Jupiter 30" is completely autonomous and as environmentally friendly as possible due to the applied sequential hybrid scheme. Its 11.9 liter, 450 hp diesel engine starts an electric generator.
The generator transmits energy to two traction electric motors and charges their traction batteries. When the dump truck brakes or moves down the quarry, these batteries are recharged through the energy recovery system.
The engine's exhaust gases heat the dump truck platform. In winter, this system helps to combat soil freezing.
The developers also provided for fuel and resource savings for the dump truck through an all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering chassis. "Jupiter 30" does not waste time and fuel on turns during loading and unloading; it simply turns its wheels in the right direction. At the same time, it can only move at a limited speed: a maximum of 56 km/h.
