Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the rules for maintaining an updated electronic register of apostilles, which will be affixed to documents on education and qualifications. The register will be integrated with the State Services, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia reported.
It is noted that the procedure for apostilling documents on general, professional, and additional education will become simpler. A citizen who needs the appropriate service can order an extract through the State Services. He will be provided with an electronic version of the apostille with a two-dimensional barcode, which is contained in the register.
An apostille is a special stamp belonging to government bodies and certifying the authenticity of documents. For example, a diploma of higher education received in Russia. An apostille is necessary when confirming the level of education abroad.
Russia also has a Unified State Register (EGR) of Civil Registry Office, which allows you to check information about a document apostilled after July 1, 2022.
