Employees of the Department of Industrial Electronics of the National Research University "MPEI" presented a charging station for electric vehicles using components of Russian production. It is emphasized that key blocks, including power equipment, microprocessors and software, are domestic.
The rector of the institute, Nikolai Rogalev, recalled that the electric transport market is actively developing in all regions of the country. That is why the development of MPEI is an important step towards creating a developed infrastructure for their maintenance.
Rogalev added that students and staff of the institute strive to develop products independent of foreign technologies that can be supplied to foreign markets.
According to the press service of MPEI, an experimental model of the charging station is now ready. The first tests proved the effectiveness of the proposed technical solutions. The development is planned to be put into operation in 2024. The station will be installed on the territory of the institute.
Earlier it became known that 25% of Russians are ready to switch to an electric car, abandoning a car with an internal combustion engine. At the same time, more than 80% of citizens agree to pay up to 2 million rubles for an electric vehicle.
